Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most important questions about BPO and outsourcing.
Costs, data protection, onboarding, contract models, quality management and delivery locations — explained directly and without circumlocution.
- What is BPO and who is it suitable for?
- Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) means a company transfers defined business processes to a specialised service provider. BPO is suitable for companies that want to scale capacity, reduce costs or access specialist knowledge without building their own structures. In Germany, BPO is used primarily by mid-market companies and international corporations with a DACH presence for customer service, back office, IT and finance.
- How much does call centre outsourcing cost in Germany?
- Costs vary significantly by delivery model. A fully loaded agent hour rate in Germany is between 35 and 55 euros. Comparable quality hours nearshore from Poland are 14 to 22 euros. At typical volumes this produces a 40 to 75 per cent cost reduction compared with a fully German solution. There are also one-off setup costs for training and system integration, which Corpshore quotes transparently.
- Is outsourcing to Poland GDPR-compliant?
- Yes. Poland is an EU member state and therefore part of the European Economic Area (EEA). Data transfers to Poland do not require a third-country transfer, no Transfer Impact Assessment and no Standard Contractual Clauses. They are legally equivalent to a German domestic solution. Corpshore concludes a GDPR-compliant data processing agreement with every client.
- How long does it take to set up an outsourced team?
- For a team of 5 to 20 people, Corpshore typically plans 5 to 15 working days to go-live. This includes: contract phase (2 to 4 days), recruitment from the existing talent pool (3 to 5 days) and training against your processes and systems (3 to 7 days). Larger teams or highly specialised processes need 4 to 8 weeks.
- Do I need to inform my works council when I outsource processes?
- Usually yes. The Works Constitution Act (BetrVG) gives works councils information and consultation rights on significant operational changes, which may include the outsourcing of processes. Corpshore supports clients in proper works council involvement and provides documentation. Codetermination does not mean a project must be stopped, but that the process is structured transparently and with adequate lead time.
- Which languages can Corpshore cover?
- Corpshore delivers in over 35 languages. Core languages for the German market are German (native speakers, C2), English, French, Polish, Turkish, Arabic and Spanish. For less common languages we offer documented language assurance rather than quality promises without an evidential basis.
- What contract models does Corpshore offer?
- Corpshore offers three base models: (1) Dedicated team: fixed FTE count, fully loaded rate, monthly billing. Clear cost planning, maximum client identification. (2) Shared services: capacity shares are pooled. Cost-effective for fluctuating volumes under 3 FTE. (3) Outcome-based: billing per transaction, ticket or lead. For volume business with clearly defined units. Most mid-market clients choose the dedicated model.
- How does quality management work for outsourced customer service?
- Corpshore uses three-level quality assurance: first, automated conversation analysis with AI-assisted transcription and sentiment classification. Second, manual auditing by German-speaking quality analysts against your evaluation framework. Third, weekly quality calls with your account team and monthly KPI reports in your format. All KPIs are mapped in your systems or a jointly defined dashboard.
- How does Corpshore differ from traditional German BPO providers?
- Three key differences: first, pricing transparency, published in full rather than on request. Second, European delivery depth with genuine language competence, not sourced through subcontractors. Third, GDPR governance that not only describes the German standard but evidences it with SCCs, TIAs and technical measures for all non-EEA locations. Corpshore is also ranked No. 1 BPO provider in Germany by Outsource Accelerator.
- What is IT nearshoring and why is Poland a good choice for German companies?
- IT nearshoring means outsourcing IT development or IT operations to neighbouring countries that are culturally and time-zone adjacent. Poland is particularly attractive for German companies: same time zone (CET/CEST), strong English and German language skills, high-quality computer science graduates, EU law and EEA data protection, significantly lower fully loaded costs than Germany. Corpshore delivers from Krakow and Warsaw with over 400 IT specialists.
- Can I start an outsourcing partnership with a small team?
- Yes. Corpshore offers pilot teams from 3 FTE with a monthly exit option. This enables a controlled start without long-term commitment. Most successful partnerships begin with a pilot in a defined process area and are expanded after 60 to 90 days on the basis of demonstrated KPIs.
- Which industries does Corpshore serve in Germany?
- Corpshore operates across industries and has experience in: banking and financial services, insurance, automotive, mechanical engineering, retail and e-commerce, logistics, telecommunications, healthcare, technology and software, public sector and professional services. Industry-specific experience means shorter training, familiar compliance requirements and industry-standard KPIs from day one.
